Registry of patients with first acute ischaemic stroke of the carotid circulation with permanent neurological deficit.
start of the project: 03/2014
The SONAR registry (Spastic Dystonia Registry) is a non-interventional observational study focused on patients with first acute ischaemic stroke of the carotid circulation with permanent neurological deficit. Study objectives involve monitoring of spasticity incidence and prevalence rates, assessment of potential risk factors, and analysis of mortality rates. Furthermore, the project will provide a database background and a pilot version of the information system for the monitoring of treatment burden, results and quality in clinical practice in Czech stroke centres.
Patients are included based on inclusion criteria, and are characterised according to the presence or absence of exposition to potential risk factors at the beginning of the study (primary stroke – examination during the first check-up). Repeated check-ups make it possible to gather data for the assessment of spasticity incidence rates and for the comparison of various groups of patients according to their risk factors.
