Acute coronary syndromes (ACS) are among the leading causes of hospital admissions and deaths in Europe. Incidence rates for coronary heart disease (CHD) are higher in East European countries when compared to other European regions.
The aim of the project was to obtain epidemiological information and to evaluate treatment strategies in all patients hospitalised due to acute coronary syndromes (ACS) in clearly defined regions of the Czech Republic.
